What is Coronary Artery Disease

Coronary heart disease is a particular manifestation as well as atherosclerosis (plaque buildup) in the coronary arteries and this led to the supply of oxygen-rich blood flowing to the muscles - the heart muscle is congested. Postings on coronary heart disease was made because there are bloggers who asked the previous post about preventing coronary heart disease.

Coronary heart disease is the result of plaque buildup. Plaque itself is made up of fat, cholesterol, calcium, and other substances found in the blood. When plaque accumulates in the arteries, a condition called atherosclerosis. This plaque buildup can occur in a long time.

Plaque is formed in the arteries branching towards the left coronary artery, right coronary artery and the artery sirkumflex rather rare. Blood flow distal to the obstruction can be permanently, or temporarily caused by the accumulation of plaque or clots. Along with the passage of time from year to year, this plaque will harden and constrict the coronary arteries. This is what causes the flow of oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle will be limited.

Finally, the plaque can rupture (open). This will cause a blood clot formed on the surface of the plaque. If the clot becomes large enough, can be largely or completely block and inhibit the flow of blood through the arteries koroner.Jika oxygen-rich blood flow to the heart muscle is reduced or inhibited, then the chest pain / angina pectoris or heart attack may occur in a person.

Chest pain is felt by the patient in a different sensation. The patient was said that the sensation of chest pain is like squeezing, burning, crushed heavy objects. Chest pain is felt in the shoulders, arms, neck, jaw, or back. Anginal pain is felt in some patients such as indigestion (heartburn) as perceived in the solar plexus. This is called coronary heart disease.

If this is allowed to continue and not be handled correctly, accurately and quickly will result in what many people call a heart attack. A heart attack occurs when the flow of oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle suddenly becomes blocked. If blood flow is not restored quickly, part of the heart muscle begins to die. Without prompt and proper treatment, heart attack would be fatal because it can cause death.

Coronary heart disease included in the category of heart disease is most common. Even in America the United States, this disease is the number one killer disease is coronary heart disease. For this reason it should prevent coronary heart is better than cure.
